Grytsje Schaaf (1979) is an architect, a teacher, a poet and an artist. She publishes her poetry regularly. Often she turns her poetry recitals into performances. In recent years she collaborated with various artists, poets and musicians in projects like Tsjinlûd and Lân fan Taal. From 2018 onwards she makes her own spatial art, as well as commissioned work through her own company ‘Romtlik’.
A recurrent theme in her work is space, both in the content as well as the physical form of her art. Tactile poetry is reflected spatially in her installations, brought to life through the material and character of the work combined with her sharp observations and interpretations.
