Sylke Kingma (1998) is a Frisian author. She was born in Stienwyk and grew up in Rie. Sylke got a degree in social work in Leeuwarden and has been developing her skills ever since. Her experiences as a social worker are a source of inspiration for her poems. She wants to grab the struggles of life, write them down and explore them. She often writes about these existential struggles and tries to motivate others with a holistic vision and inspire a sense of connection. She finds her largest source of inspiration close to home: the landscape, the Wadden. Since 2024 Sylke has been active in the organisation of Diele fan it Waad, a yearly poetry project exploring the connection between humans and landscape.
