Flowers To kill the time there’s a button for ‘autoplay’ waiting for you, always There’s a whole world full like a large warehouse of buttons to kill the time But then time overtakes you like wind howling past you and there’s no button for ‘rewind’ To postpone death a small plastic packet of white powder comes with each bouquet There’s a whole factory and large office buildings for flower food to delay death But death will catch up and bring a new time for fresh flowers © Sigrid Kingma
