Aggie van der Meer

Aggie van der Meer (Bolsward, 1927), the nestor of Frisian poets. It all started with De stêd, it Bist, de Ingel in 2000. Goasse Brouwer of the publishing house Frysk en Frij published it as being “Balladesque”, but everyone else just called it a volume of poetry. The first reviewer swore it was written by Baudelaire, but that couldn’t be. This confusion has remained, just like the inspiration. Apart from novels, Aggie van der Meer has published six poetry collections since 2000:

Poetry collections:
2002 – Hân oan ‘e muorre
2004 – Wachtsjen op it daagjen
2007 – It bern dat oer it wetter blaast
2012 – De sneinen
2014 – Tei-iizje / Lok-azen (Frisian/Dutch)
